IslandWood Outcomes

IslandWood’s graduate program in Education for the Environment and Community (EEC) has the following outcomes for students who complete the program:

Experiential Educator The IslandWood EEC graduate designs instruction and facilitates learners to positively engage and become stewards of the community and environment.

Systems Thinker The IslandWood EEC graduate leads others to recognize dynamic and complex relationships in diverse natural and human systems.

Servant Leader The IslandWood EEC graduate advocates for and collaborates with stakeholders toward positive outcomes in the environment and community.

Knowledgeable Practitioner The IslandWood EEC graduate uses core concepts in the fields of Ecology, Science, Art, Natural History, Child Development, and Educational Foundations (Environmental Education and Social/historical Foundations).

Student-centered Instructor The IslandWood EEC graduate uses knowledge of the learner to appropriately challenge and guide each in their progression of learning.
